“My name is Katie Self and this will be my eighth year teaching elementary art. I have spent my entire career in the Kansas City area, graduating from UMKC and teaching at KCK public schools. I live right here in Volker with my Husband Brett, my 10 month old daughter, Daisy and our elderly Puggle, George. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be the neighborhood art teacher at Gordon Parks! As an Art History major I can’t wait to teach the kids about new and diverse artists. I especially enjoy working on projects that involve clay and paint. The messier the better! I am really looking forward to meeting the entire staff and our students in August!”Read More
