Sallie Davidson teaches 2nd grade here at Gordon Parks.  Mrs. Davidson has always known that she wanted to be a teacher.  She comes from a large family of educators.  Mrs. Davidson began her journey to becoming a teacher at the University of Central Missouri where she double majored in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  While at UCM, she was a member of the Association of Childhood Education International as well as Kappa Delta Pi, an educational honors fraternity.

Mrs. Davidson's first classroom was a 1st grade classroom in the Liberty Public School system.  She spent 5 years teaching 1st grade and then moved up to 2nd grade and taught 2nd grade for 5 years before joining the staff at Gordon Parks.  While with Liberty Public Schools, Mrs. Davidson severed on a variety of committees at both the school level as well as the district level.  Mrs. Davidson lives in the Northland with her husband, two kids, and very hyper lab!

Sean Klippel, 3rd Grade Teacher

Sean Klippel moved to Kansas City in 2010. Sean received his bachelor’s degree in Drama and Theatre for Youth from the University of Northern Iowa where he worked as a grant research associate alongside a research team sponsored by Autism Speaks. The years following, he has worked as the Associate Education Director for the Coterie Children’s Theatre in Kansas City and a LIFT Paraprofessional in the Blue Valley Community School District. Sean will graduate with his master's degree in Elementary Education in the fall of 2017 from Rockhurst University. Sean is passionate about creating authentic, educative experiences for student learners, building relationships with students, families and coworkers, and applying his unique and vast education background in the classroom.

Johnna McGlaughlin, 3rd Grade Teacher

Johnna McGlaughlin has spent the majority of her life living in the Kansas City area. She attended Drury University and graduated in May 2018 with two Bachelors degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology. She has spent a lot of time running the Rainbow Summer School program that serves the children in the Rosedale neighborhood of Kansas City. In her free time, she enjoys exercise, making music, baking and drinking coffee.

Kate Cross, 4th Grade Teacher

Kate Cross is a teacher early in her career who is a lifelong resident of the greater Kansas City area. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri she now finds herself in Shawnee Kansas. Kate got her degree in education from Kansas State University. Before switching to education she spent several years majoring in vocal performance. Even though she switched to education, music is still prevalent in her life and in her classroom. She loves teaching using interactive learning models that incorporate lots of movement and cooperation. Ms. Cross can be found outside of the school spending time reading, walking her dog Chickie, or at rehearsals for the Kansas City Symphony Chorus.

Lorri Hatfield, 4th Grade Teacher

Lorri Hatfield is a native of the Kansas City area and loves its rich culture.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas and was a Marketing Executive for McDonald’s Corporation before becoming a teacher. She received her teaching licensure from Ottawa University in 2011 and has been teaching for 7 years, primarily in the Blue Valley and Shawnee Mission School Districts.  Lorri is a mother of 3 children and currently lives in Overland Park with her husband and her dog, Lacey.

Lauren Gonzalez, 4th Grade Paraprofessional / Enrollment Coordinator

Lauren Gonzales was born and raised in Kansas City and graduated from Park University with a bachelors degree in Child and Family Studies.  She loves working with children and feels that the development and emotional needs of each child is very important.  She is also excited to build positive relationships with the students, families and her coworkers here at Gordon Parks. 

Lauren enjoys spending time with family, taking walks, reads and loves to water ski!
